Our Net-Metering system offers a sustainable solution for energy consumption, enabling the installation of photovoltaic systems with a power output ranging from 3kWp to 10kWp. This system is suitable for both residential and commercial properties, promising significant electricity savings. It’s estimated that such a system can generate approximately 5,000 to 16,000 kilowatt-hours annually.
The operation of the Net-Metering system is straightforward. The photovoltaic system is directly connected to the Electricity Authority of Cyprus (A.H.K.) network.
Here’s how it works:
- A photovoltaic system, ranging from 3 to 10kWp, is installed on the building’s roof.
- A new bidirectional meter is installed, connecting the system to the A.H.K. network. The energy produced by the photovoltaic system is primarily used for the building’s consumption.
- If the produced energy is insufficient to meet the building’s needs, additional energy is drawn from the network. This energy will be charged unless there are kilowatt-hours stored from previous months.
- Any surplus energy is fed back into the network for storage. This stored energy can be used for the following year. This system ensures efficient energy management, contributing to a greener and more sustainable future.
Our Net-Billing system is designed to optimize your energy consumption. It powers your building first and channels any excess energy into the network. This excess energy, generated from Renewable Energy Sources (RES), is credited to you at a cost determined by the Regulatory Authority for Energy (RAEK). Each month, we calculate the difference between the credit from the excess RES energy channeled into the network and the cost of purchasing electricity from the network.
Key features of our Net-Billing system include:
- Energy Transfer: Any surplus energy is carried over to the next billing period. Any deficits are paid as usual.
- Zeroing Out: Accumulated monetary surpluses are zeroed out in the October or November account without compensation.
- Reduced Costs: Net-Billing serves as a tool to reduce your electricity costs rather than as a means to engage in the Electricity market.
- Wide Application: The system is applicable to RES systems in commercial and industrial buildings, as well as public buildings, with a system power ranging from 10kW to 10MW per account.
- Efficiency: The system power should be less than or equal to 80% of the installed load of the building, and the maximum annual production should be less than or equal to the maximum annual consumption.
- Regular Monitoring: Every 20 minutes, both the production and the import/export of energy are measured.
- Customization: The system is designed based on the consumption profile of the building, ensuring that the monetary benefit from self-consumption exceeds the benefit from the price of purchasing electricity from RES.
- Energy Storage: The system allows for the installation of an electrical energy storage system.
